It places safari-goers in prime position to explore Kibale National Park. Making its home on the edge of Nyinabulitwa Crater Lake, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale is just a short drive away from Crater Safari Lodge.
Designed to blend unobtrusively into the surrounding scenery, Crater Safari Lodge is comprised of Deluxe cottages with thatched roofing and timber decking. In total there are nine suites; one suite is a honeymoon suite; two suites are able to host up to four travelers and are ideal for sharing by families or groups. Guests will not have to forfeit little comforts despite the remote and quiet location of the lodge. Running hot and cold water is available in the en suite baths, and solar-powered lighting. The beautiful views stretch out over Lake Nyinabulitwa, and the lush greenery surrounding the lodge is a constant and soothing presence, ensuring guests are always enveloped in untouched wilderness.
Bespoke furnishings enhance the comfort in each suite, and transition throughout every common area as well. Lounge at leisure and observe the surrounding scene from the main camp’s resting area, and each evening gather around the camp fire to reflect on the adventures of the day. Relax any time of day with a meal from the restaurant, and sample a safari cocktail from the fully-stocked bar. Guests in search of some pampering in the wild can request treatments from the mobile spa or indulge in a little retail therapy at the crafts shop.
Crater Safari Lodge is poised on the edge of Kibale National Park and is the prefect gateway to outstanding chimpanzee trekking experiences and wildlife exploration. In addition to the chimpanzees, Kibale is home to some of the highest numbers of primate species in Africa—13 species in all. Adventurers can encounter baboons, blue monkeys, red colobus, black and white colobus, and over 300 species of birdlife within Kibale. Nearby, the wetlands of Bigodi and Magombe net sightings of grazers like bushbuck and sitatunga, and small mammals including the otter and mongoose. From the Crater Safari Lodge, guests can arrange conservation activities, visits to chimpanzee habituation programs, and excursions to some of Uganda’s most unforgettable natural wonders.
